Accounts Payable - Beauty Retailer – Immediate Start

 

Exclusive Beauty retailer has an immediately start requirement for an Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger Accountant to join the finance department for an initial 4 to 8 weeks. This role would suit someone who has accounts payable experience working in retail or FMCG. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a leading international brand.   

 

The Responsibilities - Responsible for:

 

Controlling the Purchase ledgers for the UK and EMEA business

Controlling Accounts Payable for Non-stock suppliers

 

Key Job Accountabilities

 

Ensuring AP Dashboard is up-to-date and generate reporting requirements and explanations for the AP Manager

Controlling the Creditor balances; maintaining payment terms, adjustments and restatements when necessary

Maintaining AP Controls; month end reporting and updates, improving creditor days

Ensuring that we are prioritising payments in accordance with due date

Keeping general ledger up to date with invoices and payments; and validating invoices

Monitoring discount opportunities; resolving payment discrepancies; ensuring credit is received where due

Ensuring we meet all payment terms

Maintain the weekly invoice log for the Finance Leadership team to send out weekly

Controlling new supplier set up process across the UK, enforcing controls where necessary

Complete supplier statement reconciliations on a timely basis

Ensure all month-end postings are made on a timely basis

Ensure all Balance Sheet creditor accounts are reconciled monthly

Preparation of source documentation for the weekly payment run, to ensure the AP Manager has appropriate documentation to review for sign off

Liaising with external suppliers to ensure all invoice requirements are met and payment is processed in a timely manner

 

The Person:

 

Experience in Accounts Payable is required

Ability to adapt to fast paced environment

Attention to detail essential

Advanced excel skills (Vlookups, Pivot tables, Sum If, Indirect etc)

Flexible & proactive, with an eagerness to learn

Positive attitude is essential

 

Hourly rate: £12.00 p/h to £14.00 p/h
