Accounts Payable – 8 month fixed term contract

Vibrant, buzzing, busy and fast paced events company have a fabulous opportunity for an accounts payable assistant or purchase ledger clerk to join the finance team for an 8 month maternity cover contract. The environment is social, supportive and the company promote from within. They offer free lunch every day and amazing benefits. This is an 8 month fixed term contract to start immediately. 

Finance Tasks:

  • Monthly statement reconciliations
  • Assisting AP Manager with ad hoc month end tasks
  • Seeking internal approval for specific supplier accounts
  • Clearing down suspense accounts on accounting software
  • Uploading and allocating invoices on web based invoice software, approx. 500 per week
  • Batching PO’s to invoice
  • Assisting with regular payment runs setting up both BACS and cheques payments
  • Send remittances to suppliers
  • Updating daily payment request log
  • Responding to finance queries via telephone and email
  • Assisting with staff expenses including helping to improve and refine the process
  • Support AP Manager with yearend audit

Professional Qualification and Competencies:


  • Aptitude for numbers
  • GCSE/A Level educated (including maths)
  • Competent user of Microsoft Excel


  • Exposure to working in a finance team / payroll function
  • Data entry
  • Essential
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Organisational skills, reliability, good time management
  • Ability to work in a small team environment

Salary: £22,000 to £23,000
