Dynamic west end Marketing agency are recruiting an Assistant Management Accountant to work with their high calibre qualified Finance Manager. The company and finance department are growing fast, this opportunity will enable you to progress quickly with your accounting career, taking on more commercial responsibilities (management accounts, etc) within the finance department, study time and financial study support for a professional accountancy qualification is provided. This role is varied and would suit a driven, commercially aware, part qualified accountant (ideally studying CIMA) who thrives working in a fast paced, collaborative, social and forward thinking media company.  You will need to be hands-on, energetic and eager to learn and want to progress within your career.

This role is extremely varied and will include sorting invoices, expenses, management of petty cash and entering payment runs on a bi-monthly basis. Alongside a core financial role this position will play a key part in pushing the commercial performance of the business - you will be assisting the Finance Manager with end of month reports, prepayments and accruals, as well as VAT and tax returns.

Transactional Responsibilities  – Using Sage Line 50

  • Managing Supplier Ledger
  • Managing Purchase Ledger
  • Monitoring Credit Control
  • Supplier/client account queries
  • Daily Bank postings
  • Manage petty cash
  • Managing Employee Expenses
  • Tracking rechargeable expenses - billing back to client bi-monthly
  • Preparation of Bi –weekly Bacs payments
  • Maintenance of company credit cards to ensure each card has a sufficient balance at all times,
  • Process and prepare financial and business forms for the purpose of checking account balances, facilitating purchases, etc.
  • Managing new joiner admin for systems and payroll
  • Reviewing and implementing internal financial controls

Monthly/Quarterly and Reporting Responsibilities:

  • Support the FM in preparing monthly management accounts
  • Reviewing monthly management accounts with FM and providing commentary for presentation
  • Variance and Gap Analysis
  • Preparation of Budget Holder Reports
  • Lead monthly Budget Holder meetings to review actual spend vs budget
  • Maintenance and Processing of Prepayments and Accruals
  • Posting and Reconciliations for Bank, Credit Cards, Petty Cash
  • Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register
  • Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Support Cash Flow Forecasting
  • Support the FM with all tax issues PSA agreement, US tax
  • Assisting with the quarterly Forecasting and Budgeting
  • Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT return

Commercial Responsibilities:

  • Managing time tracking system – chasing timesheets, processing time and making time corrections
  • Managing Project system – issuing new project codes, setting up projects, archiving projects
  • Assisting in ad hoc analysis to support the FM

Salary: £25,000 to £28,000 + Study Support
