Job Description

Highly successful and consistently growing luxury goods company have an immediate requirement for a qualified Finance Manager to join the dynamic finance team. They are one of the most sought after in the industry and are known internationally for their outstanding work and products. You will take full responsibility for the day to day management for five of the Finance Team (part of the finance team), and their workload. You take ownership of the management accounts, management reports and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all deadlines are met. This role is the lynchpin between the Finance Team and Head of Finance.

Key responsibilities and deliverables

  • Managing the accurate preparation and submission of UK VAT returns along with associated Intrastat and EC Sales Listings
  • Managing the accurate preparation and submission of both the UK and overseas VAT registrations, ensuring compliance with EU legislation
  • Coordinate the completion of month end procedures to ensure that these deadlines are met
  • Coordinate the accurate and timely preparation of monthly management accounts including but not limited to Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Account, Trial Balance and other ad hoc reports
  • Reviewing the preparation of sales invoices to recharge expenses
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
  • Provision of monthly payroll adjustments to the external payroll provider as required
  • Coordinating the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget
  • Liaising with HMRC and other external agencies as required
  • Training and developing your direct reports and assist with training the wider Finance Team as required
  • Developing and implementing financial control procedures to streamline processes and achieve efficiencies

Qualifications and work experience

  • ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Previous experience working within the luxury goods market
  • Proven UK VAT experience including knowledge of the implications of cross border movements of goods and the provision of services
  • Advanced excel and word skills
  • Proven people management experience is essential
