Patient Accounts Administrator - DBS
Highly renowned and respected not for Profit organisation require a Patient Accounts Administrator for three months to start immediately. Reporting to the Financial Accountant, your responsibility will be to administrate patient monies and carry out any additionally reasonable tasks; as directed, by your line manager. Ideally you will have a DBS.
Key Responsibilities:
Dealing with patients’ accounts; providing account information to both patients and Finance Department staff regarding cash withdrawals and receipts, and account balances.
Reconciliation of account balances, monitoring overdrawn accounts, administration of account closures.
Raising and batch posting transactions to patients’ accounts in respect of; ambulance charges, patient outings, dental treatment and supplies, nametapes, optician’s charges, hairdressing, massages, physiotherapy, acupuncture, toiletries, cash withdrawals and cash receipts.
Raising and batch posting National Insurance benefits to patients’ accounts.
Correspondence in connection with Patient Monies System (PMS) affairs and assisting in patient welfare matters.
Liaison with Court of Protection staff and Patients’ Receivers/Deputies as required.
Interaction with patients with regards to their financial needs.
Dealing with bereaved relatives. Production of supporting forms and correspondence in relation to patients’ deaths and funerals, including preparing reports to the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Undertake various tasks on behalf of patients, such as rent payments, passport applications and payment of telephone and gas bills.
Maintenance of patients database, including filing and archiving of records.
Any other duties assigned
Assist the Financial Accountant in ad-hoc projects
Comply with Internal Controls on all areas of Financial Accounting
Person specification:
Database cleared
A team player and flexibility
Reasonably numerate
Reasonable knowledge of Microsoft products (such as Excel & Word)
Good time management skills
£11.00 to £12.00 p/h
